How will going to college help you achieve your dreams and goals?
Throughout my high school career I have fallen in love with mathematics, and right now I couldn't imagine myself in any other field than a math intensive field, which is why I dream of becoming an electrical engineer through NC State's engineering program. By becoming a part of State's engineering college, I would gain not only a degree, but knowledge, understanding, and most importantly, experience. Attending college may not assure that my dreams will come true, but it will definitely help pave the path for me to make my dreams of becoming an electrical engineer a reality.

Explain who/what in your life has inspired you to go to college.
Although my friends are driven to further their education in a college setting and my own personal dream of becoming an electrical engineer both supplement my drive to go to college, it has really been my parents who have inspired me to attend college the most. Both being alumni from East Carolina University, they understand the experience that college offers. Knowing that I have the world at my fingertips, they've emphasized the importance of college a countless number of times, truly inspiring me to set my sights on making college happen.

Explain your biggest obstacle to overcome in making college happen and what you're doing to help overcome it.
As an aspiring electrical engineer, I find enjoyment in solving equations and working hard for the satisfaction success may bring. However, no amount of Calculus and Algebra could have prepared me for the daunting financial obstacle that college has placed before me. Although AP credits such as Calculus won't pay for all of college, the college courses that I will receive credit for will lessen my financial burden. With AP credit, scholarships, and savings, I plan to not only minimize my student loans and college debt, but I plan to make college happen.
